A Baltimore father and mother repeatedly obtained abortions on their three young girls in order to cover up nine years of abuse. Calling it the “worst and saddest” case of incest in his 28 year career, Baltimore Circuit Judge Kenneth Lavon Johnson sentenced a 43 year-old mother to 15 years of prison. The girls father received a life sentence for rapes extending over nine years.
During the abuse, the parents forced the girls to undergo at least 10 abortions, many from the same doctor, who was not prosecuted and stated that he did not have any reason to suspect abuse. The mother would bring the girls to the father for sexual activity and then pretend to be asleep as they screamed and attempted to fight off the father’s advances.*
This case is similar to a case in Wichita, Kansas during Phill Kline’s tenure as Attorney General. Robert A. Estrada repeatedly raped his step-daughter over several years resulting in multiple abortions. His activity did not come to light until a reports were made by a pro-life crisis pregnancy center. Mr. Estrada is now serving a 90 year sentence.

A new study by researchers at the University of Manitoba concludes that post-abortive women are four times more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol as women who carried their pregnancies to term. The study joins numerous others in rebutting the claim of abortion providers that abortion addresses the mental health concerns of women.
The study, authored by Margaret Burnett, Jitender Sareen and Natilie Mota and published in the April 2010 issue of the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, also found a link between abortion and other mental health disease including mood disorders. (read more here)
This joins a 2008 study which you can read about here.
